Just My Type! by Tamarinis for Island Batik

Image
This week, I had the pleasure of working with the new Just My Type fabric from Island Batik designed by Tamarinis .   2020 has been a year of adjustment, and one big adjustment has been dressing for working at home and Zoom meetings.  This fabric was perfect for my  Scarves to Share Cutie Pattern .  The pattern calls for 16 fat eighths to make two scarves so I used each fat quarter twice in my scarf. Check out Just My Type fabric and update your work from home wardrobe!

A La Mode for Baby

Image
My  A La Mode Cutie Pattern  is my go-to giveaway quilt. Kits for this quilt  are on sale so you can make one (or a dozen), too! One of my "quilt crushes" is on Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet.  I have most of her books (and fabrics, and templates, and notions, and...).  So when I found this fabric, I needed to have it ALL! I decided to go with my favorite ribbon candy quilting on this quilt.  I teach how to stitch Ribbon Candy  in my  First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting online class , both free-motion, and using a stencil. This quilt has already been gifted to a new baby.   I hope it will be spit up on, dragged, abused, and loved for years to come. I only quilted in the background and left the beautiful fabrics to SHINE!

New Cutie Pattern and Kit -- Freeze Frame!

Image
I'm sew excited to share the release of my Freeze Frame Cutie Pattern !  I made my sample out of Northcott Cosmo fabrics for a modern, muted look.  This quilt belongs to my brand new great niece!  I can't wait to meet her.  Snuggling newborns makes everything seem better, doesn't it? I put the kit for this quilt on sale on my website .  This quilt is fun to make and fun to quilt! I used Stone Tutti Cotton thread on the gray and pink fabrics alike, quilted a little continuous curve, and quilted A LOT of ribbon candy.  I quilted flowers and leaves in the blocks and borders and am planning a Floral Quilting online class in 2021.  Sign up for my newsletter so you won't miss any details about upcoming classes! If you'd like to learn to quilt ribbon candy or continuous curve, I recommend my Quilting Essentials: First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting online class .  There are ten lessons and directions for practice projects.  This class gets rave reviews!
